a hundred fights

So yes a very exiting weekend I mostly just child out.
Yesterday I went to our second football game and of cause the Sandia Matadors won 35 to 0

Funniest situation during the game: a girl had to explain sport rules to my (embarrassing). This of cause was a great reason for the other girl to laugh at me.
Otherwise I have to say there are too many assignments to do! I really spend hours every day doing them I they just became more.

BTW: the victory yesterday was the 100. of the Matadors in Football. Congratulations

What’s up man

So finaly I survived the second schoolweek down here in ABQ. And I have to say Sandi is great. The spirit is beginning to catch me and it will not let me go

So i now went to school for two week here in the USA and I expirenced two firedrills. What wouldn’t be in Germany because we only have one each year or so. Oh as you may noticed I am starting to explain Germany this is because also some guys from the Staats are reading this and the are more interested in Germany than in the USA, as you can imagin. One thing I am notecing that live in the Staats is more and more becaming normal insteed of exciting and new. I still new like nothing as some guys sad today some will have to drive me arround and show me where amerikans go and what you eat in the Staats.

Yesterday I told you that there are things that you asspecially learn doring an exchange year. One of this things is greatly said in the following qout: “I know that you think you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant”. It is just the culture, the way we grow up that let us say things the same way but let us mean totaly different things.

Also today a few people asked me if I am homesick and I have to say NO deffenetly not there is still to much to do, to much to learn, to much to expirience and to much to enjoy to get homesick

“Today is the tomorrow we warried about yesterday”

beetwen patriotism and nationalism

So today we had Assembly:
After second Periode everyone was runing into the gym. The Juniors and Seniors were seated at the left half of the gym and the Freshman and 10. Grader (no idea how to write tham) were on the right side.
Before the assembly actually started the two sides kind of fighted each other with words. Or that is what I took out of it when one side is cheering while the other side is is booing. I just couldn’t understood what they sad and noone had time to tell me. When the assembly finaly started it was realy difficult to understand what the person in front was saying. So I didn’t get everything but in general the only thing that happend was that the sport teams were interduced and the cheer leaders did two performences. Also every theam did something like making a three-foot-race or a dance performance (our female voleyball team shout take a dancce curse).
All in all the assebly was kind of cool nd interesting but it was difficult to sit for about an hour.
And one of the most interesting parts was the begining. You know if our school in Germany has something like an assembly we sit together and some guys are talking. The assebly today was different. There were music when we went in and it started with a presentation of the flag and the national anthem (Nationalhymne) of the USA. And the first spoken things were like : “we are the greatest school in the city/staat” and everyone applauded. And you know what this kind of patriotism (as also the plage to the flag) wouldn’t be possible in Germany (excapt during soccer cups) because everyone would think about nationalism and not about patriotism. This is one thing of with I think Germany can learn from the Staats. To be prode of itself to except its past and look into its future. And Germany is on the right way. It is right to know about the past and avoi that such thing happen abain. But we have to look into our future. We made the first steps we are prode of our national soccer team it show it during every soccer cup. But I think the world is ready to let germans be partiotists because all the horrible things that we did, as everyone says, aren’t realy the fallts of people who were born two generations after this all happend. So let us have the brave to be patritists again let us be prode of our beautifull county and let us except our past. Because what I today expirenced of how this patriotism can unide is realy incredible.
So this is one of the bigest thing an exchange year gives you, you learn to be prode of your county!
And I am prode of Germany!

Oh and there is some other story I wanted to tell: there is a guy in my Lit clas whos grand grand …. vater started the burning of withes and whoes grand grand …. was the last burned with! Isn’t that freaky?

Writing problems

First I am sorry that I didn’t had that many time yesterday but I worked on my physics assignmants for about 4 hours and than on precalculus for some more

So today was just a normal bloc-day. And different to yesterday I brought my lunch money  so I could eat something. On time I am notecing that everything starts to be common. I mean the first days it was exciting, everything was new, everything was amazing. But on time I am used to have the same classes everyday. I am used to run over nearly the whole campus to get to my next class.
And here a quot of my Lit teacher Ms. Chase (she had a date once but it didn’t went very well) “We have two tempratures in here burning and frezzing”. And realy outside you get burned by the sun and inside they frezz you.

Damn yesterday no time and today no idea I am sorry but tomorrow is Assembly no idea what it will be like but I will tell you.

School

Hey just wanna tell everyone in Germany a bit more about the school-system:

As I told you we have our 6 different subjekts every day but there are three different variants of having tham (snow days not included):
Normal Schedule: first Periode starts at 7:38 each periode is about 55 minutes. Than there are A and B Lunch half the school has A and the other have B. Lunch is for half an hour. School always (in each Schedule last until 2:27.
Staff Tutorial Schedule: is used on Wednsdays and Thursdays. We have first Study Hall and than only 1./2. 3./4. and 5.6. Periode. The whole school has Lunch together for 50 minutes.
Assembly Schedule: is used on some Wednesdays or Thursdays. We have again 1/2 and so on Periods but between 1./2. and 3./4. we have Assembly (I will tell you on Thrursdat) and after 3./4 we have all Lunch together.
To explain 1./2. on Wednesday 1. 3. and 5. and on Thursdays 2. 4. and 6. Periode.
RSVP: on the first day of the monh or something like that. Every class is shorter and we have RSVP after 2. Periode with means someone talk with us about what we would like to change at Sandi.

That are the Schedules.
The weekend: On Saturday I went for a hike with Bruce and took about 240 pictures  (I tried to upload tham but there where some problems, but some are on svz). The hike took like all the day so just hade time to photoshop a little bit. On Sunday we visited some friends and had a barbecue. With was realy great and I noticed nearly everyone I viesited by now has Chickens . Yesterday was Labor Day so no school and I just relaxed.
